How Hybrid Editing Works

You email Bobbie your Microsoft Word document. First she line edits the document to repair typographical errors and flaws in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and noncompliance with Chicago style, always careful to maintain your writing style. Track changes show corrections in red so you can accept or reject any you choose.

Next she performs a developmental edit. For fiction, that ensures plot consistency, proper pacing, and satisfying story arcs. For nonfiction, it ensures the information flows well and is clear and organized. The report may include suggestions to increase the marketability of the manuscript.

Hybrid editing is especially helpful to fiction writers and those who want to glean the knowledge of a professional editor.

Cost

The price for hybrid editing is four cents ($0.04) a word based on the word count in Microsoft Word, with a $200 minimum per submission. All work is prepaid.
